Three proecologic projects of Soda Polska Ciech obtain additional financing
Soda Polska Ciech applied for additional financing of the project in September 2008. The project called “Construction of the installation of desulphurization of combustion gases in Elektrociepłownia Janikowo ” concerns separation of sulfuric compounds from gases using the method of modern technology, that is half-dry desulphurization of combustion gases. Together with other projects aiming at the modernization of Elektrociepłownia Janikowo, this investment will restrict emission of dust pollution and gas pollution associated with SO₂. The product achieved in the installation of desulphurization of combustion gases will be used in the production of building materials. The project of Soda Polska Ciech for additional financing approved by NFOŚiGW confirms that its implementation will result in significant ecological effect making the quality of air better.
Some time ago Soda Polska Ciech obtained additional financing for two other proecologic investments in Elektrociepłownia Janikowo. By the end of June 2009 the company signed up with NFOŚiGW the agreement on financial support of additional number of boilers in Elektrociepłownia Janików. The amount of additional financing of this project amounts to about PLN 13,4 million, which constitutes 30% of eligible costs of this project. Additional amount of PLN 12,3 million will be used for the common proecologic investment of Soda Polska Ciech and Lafarge company - construction of the installation for separation of fly-ash from the heat and power generating plant of its two soda companies. This project is directed by Hatra Cement and Beton company, subsidiary of Lafarge (71% of shares) and Soda Polska Ciech (29% of shares).

One of projects that was approved by PARP was “Construction of the innovative productive installation of pesticides”. It was put forward by “Organika-Sarzyna” Chemical Companies, subsidiary of the Ciech Chemical Group.
The aim of this investment is to construct a new innovative processing line used for the production of substance that will be the basic raw material for the production of pesticides. As a result of the project, new solutions will be implemented. They will improve economics of the production process and significantly restrict its influence on the natural environment. The performance of the project will result in new vacancies as well.
The total value of this investment amounts to PLN 123 million, whereas the value of additional financing amounts to over PLN 39,9 million, which constitutes 47,22% of the value of eligible costs. This project, thanks to financial support from EU funds, will be performed in a larger extent and within a shorter period of time. According to the works programme enclosed to the application, the planned time for project completion is from 1 March 2010 to 31 December 2011. The execution of such a large investment will be faster due to obtaining additional financing in a form of advance payments.
