In Chemical Plant Organika-Sarzyna, belonging to Ciech, a new installation for the production of resins has been started, which according to the aim will ensure the Company 60 million PLN of additional income annually.
Production capacity of the new installation amounts to 10 thousand tons of polyester resins annually. It has been built in less than 5 months at the expense of 17.8 million PLN. Together with earlier operating subcarpathian installation the company will be able to manufacture 25 thousand tons of polyester resins.
Additional income and increased sale outside Poland
Assuming that resin prices will maintain at the present level, additional income of Organika-Sarzyna for the sale of polyester resins will amount to circa 60 million PLN annually.
- Automation and the increase of the amount of resins manufactured during one cycle, will make the production more profitable. Thanks to this, we will be able to increase export – says Andrzej Miazga, Chairman of the Organika-Sarzyna chemical plant. Currently about 25 percent of polyester resins of the subcarpathian company goes to foreign customers.
The possibility cannot be excluded, that in the future the company will increase the production of polyesters by the next 10 thousand tons annually. While designing the new building, in which the new installation can be found, the company made provision for the place, in which the next reactor for resin manufacturing would be placed. Interest in resins of Organika-Sarzyna increases constantly, and the company has the capability of further increase of the manufacturing power.
Profits from integration in Ciech Chemical Group
Extension of the polyester plant in Organika-Sarzyna is a yet another investment in the subcarpathian company. A modernized installation for production of epoxy resins was started there in autumn 2007. Its manufacturing capabilities increased from 15 thousand tons to 30 thousand tons of resins annually. The cost of this modernization is 35 million PLN.

We want the company to strengthen its market position and simultaneously to maintain strongly connected with the owner – says Ryszard Kunicki, Head of supervisory Board in Organika-Sarzyna and Chairman of Ciech S.A.
Subcarpathian company, as well as Zachem Chemical Plant in Bydgoszcz, are a part of Organika Ciech Division. Modernization projects in those companies as well as integration within Division up to the year 2011 are expected to bring in 124 million PLN of savings annually. In the first half-year of the year 2008 financial effects in the amount of 36.5 million PLN have been achieved.
50 years of polyester resins from Organika-Sarzyna
Activation of the new installation in the subcarpathian company coincided with the fiftieth anniversary of polyester resins manufacturing in Organika-Sarzyna. Since its activation in the company, over 320 thousand tons of resins have been manufactured. Such quantity can be loaded on 16 thousand lorries or into 1.5 million barrels.
From polyester resins produced are among others: yacht hulls, liquid containers, pipes, pools, bathtubs and washbasins, even garden dwarves. Even pope’s altar in Pepelin was made from Organika-Sarzyna resins, as well as marblelike plates, which decorate station in Kiev. Resins constitute from 20 to 70 percent of ready product, depending on their application.
Organika-Sarzyna exists from the year 1937. At the end of 2006 it joined Ciech Group. Company manufactures pesticides and active substances which are used in their production, epoxy resins, polyester resins, phenol-formaldehyde resins, resin hardeners, hardening agents for moulding masses and other. The full production assortment includes several hundred product sorts and variations. All investment expenses in 2007 amounted to over 48 million PLN. In 2007 Organika’s income totaled 427.5 million PLN, and net profit 31.2 million PLN. The company employs over 700 people.
