Ciech announces the 1st edition of the competition for the “Award of the President of the Management Board of Ciech SA for the best PhD thesis and MA or MSc thesis” in the area of chemical technology and technique regarding the production business of the Ciech Group
– The purpose of the competition is to stimulate the interest of the academic environment in practical application of the results of research works in solving technical and technological problems of our Group’s production plants. – said Ryszard Kunicki, President of the Management Board of Ciech. – We would also like to connect the scientific and professional development of the ablest graduates and PhD candidates of technical universities with the development of the Ciech Group – he added.
The initiative to create a Scientific Award was taken by the Board of Experts operating at the President of the Management Board of Ciech. It is another project of the Group aimed at strengthening the cooperation between science and industry, in particular universities. The competition is organised under the patronage of the President of the Management Board of Ciech, who, together with the Board of Experts, constitutes the Competition Committee.
The competition will prefer subjects contributing to the development of the organic chemistry and plant protection chemicals and agrochemicals, feedstuff additives, soda ash and soda-based products, glass-based products, as well as long-term material engineering solutions.
The authors of the best theses will be granted 2 main awards and 2 distinctions:
- The Award of the President of the Management Board of Ciech for the best PhD thesis accounting for PLN 10 000
- The Award of the President of the Management Board of Ciech for the best MA or MSc thesis accounting for PLN 7 000
- Distinction of the President of the Management Board of Ciech for a PhD thesis accounting for PLN 5 000
- Distinction of the President of the Management Board of Ciech for an MA or MSc thesis accounting for PLN 3 000
The theses may be submitted to the competition by their authors, faculty boards, thesis supervisors with consent of their authors by June 30th, 2012. The submissions may be made by electronic mail or traditional mail to the following address:
