Ciech - a Forbes Diamond
1/16/2008

Ciech was included on the list of the most valuable enterprises in Poland, prepared by the Polish version of Forbes monthly magazine in collaboration with industrial information experts Dun and Bradstreet Poland.  We took 26th place in the category “Diamonds of Forbes – large enterprises” (in total the publication awarded 53 companies on the list).  The ranking showed that the average increase in value of Ciech between 2004 and 2006 amounted to about 74 percent.

When choosing the best Polish enterprises, journalists of Forbes and experts of Dun and Bradstreet Poland studied the financial statements of 6434 companies for the year 2006.  The winners and the awarded companies had to meet the following criteria: they were supposed to show a net profit, they were not allowed to have been in bankruptcy or gone into liquidation and their risk factor must not have exceeded 4 (according to the Dun and Bradstreet evaluation). Ciech met all the above criteria.

“The lists of Diamonds included the best companies of the highest value development dynamics. We can classify them as the group of enterprises, which, by increasing their value at the same time reduce their risk of insolvency”, wrote Marcin Jankowski from Dun and Bradstreet Poland in Forbes magazine.

By taking 26th place among the biggest companies Ciech overtook such concerns as Kraft Food Polska, KGHM Polska Miedź, TVN, Orlen Oil, Sanofi–Aventis and MAN Star Trucks & Buses.
