Ciech took the 180th place on the list of 500 largest companies in the Central and Eastern Europe created by Rzeczpospolita daily and Deloitte called Europa 500. All companies from industrial and commercial branch were considered in the survey.
With more than one third of entities entered on the list, Polish companies dominated the list of the 500 largest companies. The condition of our companies against the background of the region is good with their position being higher and higher each year. Ciech was ranked the first among chemical companies and improved its result in comparison to 2007 by 7 positions. The next positions were taken by Boryszew – 214, Puławy 307, Police 322, with Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn ranked 492. PKN Orlen was ranked first among non-financial entities.
The authors of the list emphasize that Polish companies have been dealing well with the economic slump and they suppose that in the next year’s edition there will be even more Polish companies.
