The growth strategy in the Ciech Chemical Group puts emphasis on improvement of the innovation and development activity. Upon completion of its assumptions, the Research and Development Office was appointed in July 2007 in the Corporate Centre of Ciech, whose task is to manage R&D activity and to identify opportunities to co-finance innovation projects within the aid funds from the European Union.
International chemical concerns spend approx. 2% to 3% of their income on research and development. In 2007 expenditure on research and development projects amounted to PLN 87.4 million in the Ciech Chemical Group, i.e., 2.6% of its income. This year an increase of expenditure is planned for this purpose from approx. 35% to over PLN 120 million, which will account for approx. 3% of the company's income.
