Modernization of Janikowo power industry
The enterprise conducted by Ciech Polish Soda Ltd. includes: extensive modernization of three CKTI-75 boilers, designing the installation for desulphurization of flue gases, modernization of electro filters for three CKTI-75 boilers and modernization of the installation for ash removal of boilers.
The investment’s aim is to improve the cost and power effectiveness of soda and evaporated salt. It will increase power effectiveness by 25%, improve watt-hour efficiency power up to 91% (heat energy constitutes the biggest component of costs of soda production), enable the reduction of coal consumption in SPC by 1,65% and permit the reduction of the emission of gases, as well as find a solution to a problem of ash recycling and desulphurization. The investment is necessary not only due to the above mentioned positive results but also because of the requirements of the standards of emissions. In the case of lack of modernization there exists a risk of partial loss of soda production (50 to 100 tt/r). Predicted budget of the whole project whose realization is planned for the years of 2008-2012, reaches ca PLN 231 000.000,00. Ciech Polish Soda has been subsidized from the aid funds from EU funds, 4 priority within Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme (subsidy amount for Modernization of Power Industry in EC Janikowo amounts to ca PLN 31 000.000,00.
Development of innovative installation for the production of MCPA and MCPP-P
The investment conducted by Organika-Sarzyna Chemical Plant will introduce innovative technological solutions, increasing the production capacity of high margin herbicides from 4 to 6 tt/r. Due to this investment the production capacity of the main half finished product to produce herbicides (by 50%), the consumption of raw materials will decrease by ca 5%, effectiveness of production process will increase and watt-hour efficiency will improve by ca 5%, technological and cost rates will improve by 3 to 5%, prices of products MCPA based will increase by ca 5% due to quality improvement, and sewage emission will decrease by ca 5%. Predicted budget of the investment due for completion in 2012 amounts to ca PLN 103 000.000,00. The project has been subsided from aid funds from EU funds, 4.4. Activity within Innovative Economy Operational Programme (subsidy of ca PLN 40.000.000,00).
Development of the installation and introduction of innovative technology of the production of epichlorohydrin from glycerin
The investment conducted by Zachem Chemical Plant consists in drawing and introducing innovative technology of EPI production from glycerin. The technology is mostly based on the Zachem team’s own researches, supported by Institute of ‘Blachownia” Heavy Organic Synthesis. The investment will enable further integration with TDI production unit, improve process rates by ca 30% (among other things: it will cause the reduction of power consumption by 10 GWh annually), decrease of pollution emission, change raw materials base (from petrochemical to waste substances from biodiesel production, reducing chlorine and propylene purchase needs), and will also enable the use of adventive HCl (hydrogen chloride) from the production of TDI. Predicted budget of the investment due for completion in 2012 amounts to ca PLN 58 000.000,00. The project has been subsided from EU funds, 4.4. Activity within Innovative Economy Operational Programme (subsidy of ca PLN 28.000.000,00).
Optimization of TDI production process to reach production capacity on the level of 90 tt/r.
As a result conducting the investment by Zachem Chemical Plant the capacity of TDI complex will increase to the level of 90 tt/r, through the modernization o installation: carbon monoxide synthesis, phosgene synthesis, TDI synthesis and expansion of TDA container terminal. The investment will expand the TDI production capacity by tt/r. Predicted budget of the investment due for completion in 2012-2013 amounts to ca PLN 32 000.000,00.
Intensification of baking soda production
The investments conducted by soda companies: Ciech Soda Polska nad Sodawerk Stassfurt aim at the expansion of production capacity of baking soda by 30 tt/r. Thanks to these investments Ciech Group with its 140 tt/r production capacity will reinforce its position on the European market of baking soda. Capital investment will amount to ca PLN 20 000.000,00 and the projects are due for completion in 2013. The investments will enable bigger activities in the most demanding sectors of pharmaceutical and desulfurization of combustion gases markets.
