The Ciech activities in the area of innovation and R&D is supported by most famous Polish scientists who comprise the Experts Council attached to the president of Ciech Group. The Experts Council is chaired by professor Henryk Górecki from Wrocław University of Technology who at the same time is the Vice chairman of he Science Council attached to the Minister of Science and Higher Education. His deputy is professor Ryszard Górecki , and the members of the Experts Council are professor Jarosław Mizera, professor Juliusz Pernak, professor Stefan Pruszyński and professor Mieczysław Trypuć.
The Experts Council is an advisory and opinion-making body attached to the president of Ciech Group, using their professional knowledge to the advantage of Ciech Group in the following areas:
- policy in the area of innovation and R&D in Ciech Chemical Group resulting from the strategy approved for implementation,
- innovation projects in the area of new/ improved products and technological processes planed for implementation by companies and divisions of Ciech Chemical Group,
- innovation and R&D projects for existing installations in the area of their modernization and optimization in terms of technology and energy savings, with particular emphasis placed at the requirements of Best Available Techniques (BAT),
- organization of cooperation between the companies and divisions of Ciech Chemical Group with research and development units (departments of universities, research and development centres, Polish Academy of Sciences) and Ciech Group.
The first meeting of the Experts Council was held on 23 November 2007 with participation of many prominent personalities from the world of science. Present were, amongst others, the rectors of universities, deans of faculties, directors of institutes. The Experts Council with great energy took to the task of organizing the cooperation between the research and development units and Ciech Group.
The Experts Council attached to the president of Ciech SA has undertaken a thorough review of R&D area in the Group companies. As a result more than 10 research and development projects has received the highest grades in terms of their merit value and have been approved for financing from aid funds available for scientific institutions.
The Experts Council attached to the president of Ciech SA implemented a project connected with review of growth strategies of main Group companies. The project was implemented by Experts Team comprising top experts in a given area of chemistry, and the consolidated conclusions will be presented to the Management Board of Ciech SA for consideration in the Group growth strategy.
