Poland's accession to the European Union forced Polish enterprises to quickly adjust to the European concept of quality. Currently quality is the most important stimulus in gaining new customers, social trust and a competitive edge. All manufacturing companies of the Ciech Chemical Group have implemented ISO 9001-compliant quality management systems.
The concept of the Environmental Management System by the ISO 14000 standards is based on the restructuring of the rules and procedures of manufacturing process management or service provision in such a manner that the related impacts on the environment are precisely identified and eliminated, and if this is not possible, they are systematically limited and controlled according to methods adjusted to the main goals of activity.
The majority of the companies belonging to the Ciech Chemical Group maintain an environmental management system in line with requirements of ISO 14001 standards. Furthermore, Zachem SA and ZCh Organika-Sarzyna SA are the signatories of Responsible Care Program.
Vitrosilicon SA, ZCh Zachem SA and Organika Sarzyna SA are maintaining and improving the work safety management system.
Since some of the products manufactured by ZCh Alwernia SA are used by the food and meat processing industry the company is obliged to implement the HACCP system. This is also the case with the plant in Janikowo belonging to Soda Polska Ciech Sp. z o.o., which manufactures kitchen salt. The second plant belonging to this company, situated in Inowrocław, received a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certificate for the production process of soda ash and sodium bicarbonate to be used in animal feed. ZCh Alwernia received a PCBC certificate authorizing the company to mark its fertilizers with the safety mark.
