While managing an organisation, the environment should be treated as a priority, especially for enterprises in the chemical industry, which to the greatest extent interferes in its condition. Prevention of environmental threats or taking preventive measures should be the general strategic assumption applied upon the establishment of a policy.
According to the new Ciech Chemical Group strategy, establishment of the Integrated Ecology Management System of the Group is one of the main initiatives in the domain of environmental protection. The idea of the system relies on the smooth flow of information between the Corporate Centre of Ciech SA and its divisions and the Group Companies in order to create an ecological data base of the Group. Collected information on the type and scale of the companies’ impact on environment will be a basic tool to assess the ecological situation in the Group, to follow the tendencies of changes in the plants' scale of impact on particular environmental components, to identify potential ecological threats and to take preventive or corrective steps. Development of such standards for actions will be possible thanks to close cooperation of the people responsible for environmental protection in Ciech SA and the Group Companies. The creation of such system is in progress.
