The integrated permits regulate the principles of emissions of substances or energy from systems to the environment which, due to type and scale of the activity, may cause considerable environmental pollution. The integrated permits should replace any sector permits and should cover the entire scope of impact on environment, notably: sewage disposal to waters or ground, consumption of water, emissions to the air, manufacture of waste, noise and electromagnetic field emission, and reduction of the effects of industrial accidents. The most characteristic requirement within the integrated permits, distinguishing them from the sector permits is that systems requiring integrated permits should comply with requirements resulting from Best Available Techniques (BAT).
No integrated permit means no license for system exploitation. Obtaining permits for all IPPC systems in due time conditions the possibility to carry out the Company's statutory activity. All of the Ciech Chemical Group companies have obtained the necessary integrated permits for the running IPPC systems with a 10-year period of validity.
