The report, in which Ciech presented company and Group events from previous year, has won a prestigious second place in the “The Best Annual Report 2007” competition. Our report has outshined PKN Orlen report in the category of industrial companies, only KGHM Polska Miedź scored more points. Additionally, Ciech received an award from the organizers for the best company’s business report in 2007. The organizers of the competition are: the Institute of Accounting and Taxation(IRIP) in cooperation with “Dziennik” and “The Wall Street Journal Polska".
– The reports, which were awarded by us, have the most user value to shareholders and investors. Investment decisions can be made on the base of those reports with a relatively low risk – said Małgorzata Gula, the President of the Institute of Accounting and Taxation during the ceremony.
– Actually, this is the second award for Ciech in the area of investor relations in recent weeks. It shows our company's attentiveness in stock exchange investor contacts. I would like to express my wish that the quality of this communication has been steadily improved because we are always open to contacts with capital market participants - said Ryszard Kunicki, Ciech CEO, during the award presentation gala. In the IRiP competition, 25 reports were judged by a jury of 19 experts with Prof. Waldemar Frąckowiak of HLB Frąckowiak i Wspólnicy as its Chairman. The first criterion was an analysis of the Auditor’s review of the financial report audit. Next, each report was assessed by three teams, who took the board report, the application of IFRS/IAS and user value into consideration.
