– Ciech is the most important company in Warsaw. That’s the opinion of the readers and the editorial team of “Puls Biznesu” daily that awarded the company an honourable title of the Pillar of Polish Economy 2007. We have been ranked higher than such business tycoons as Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, LOT, Poczta Polska and Nokia Polska (all having their HQs in Warsaw). – The fact that the good times have come for the parent company and the Ciech Group is proved by the commendations of broker houses for the company stock – wrote “Puls Biznesu”.
– Pillars are such enterprises whose economic strength expressed by such ratios as profit, profitability or capitalisation is unquestionable and that easily adapt to regional conditions, explains Andrzej Nierychło, Publishing Director of “Puls Biznesu”. Consequently, the ranking is a catalogue of big businesses that have a considerable impact on the economy of Polish voivodeships, and by the same token, the entire country. Other companies of our Group are ranked high too. The second most important company in the Kujawy Region is Soda Mątwy. Moreover, the regional nominees included Zachem in Bydgoszcz and Janikosoda, as well as Organika Sarzyna in the Podkarpacie Region.
The competitors for the title of the Pillar of Polish Economy were 424 enterprises representing 17 categories (16 voivodeships and the capital city). Votes were cast by 25,000 people. The award for Ciech was received during the special ceremony by Mirosław Kochalski, President of the Ciech Management Board, and Deputy Head of Soda Polska Ciech, Krzysztof Homenda.
